In honor of my husband getting a new job, I am posting a picture of him as a very little boy. Isn't he a cutie!

At the cottages ... 23 years ago
Here is a picture of me, my mom and 3 of my children just after David was born. We went to the cottages the weekend after he was born.
We definitely look like we are out in the woods. Cute little family. Crazy how fast goes by. Everyone is all grown up!

Louis Spink
This is my other grandfather, Louis Spink. We believe it was taken in France as he was trying to get to USA. He traveled on a ship called Chicago from Europe to the USA. Since he settled in the Chicago area, it is easy to remember the name of the ship.
Cora and Fred
This is a photo of my grandparents: Frederick Poole and Cora Alice Minnis. Grandpa looks handsome in his uniform. The picture was taken in Landsdowne, PA aound 1942. Fred was stationed in the area.

Mary MInnis
This is my great grandmother. She was born in Germany. Her correct name was Maria Catherina Melcher. She married Charles Newman Minnis in 1908. She had 4 children with Charles. She died in Illinois.
I hear she was small and fiesty. My dad remembers her always busy at work in the kitchen. She liked to spoil her grandchilden and the men in the family with special treats. Dad said the house would always smell good when she came to visit. She was a very faithful Baptist. She had a strong German accent throughout her life.

Introduction
I am looking for a place to share old family pictures and the family to share stories from the past. I hope my family will join me here!
So, if I am going to post pictures of family, it is only fair that I start with one of me. I think this is from the late 1970's while I was living in Iran.
